Unwavering

This car pulled up next to me in the parking lot. Two ladies got out.
As soon as the door was closed, rwo large dogs leapt into the front seats from the rear.
As the women walked toward the store, this dogs' eyes never left them. His head never moved, his stare was unwavering.
I was a tad worried as it was 30 C outside, and even with the window cracked open, those temps would be dangerous to anything left in the car for any length of time.
A coule of minutes went by with the dog fixated on the door of the store where his owner had gone. No blinks, no nothing, just this look of "abandonment/fear/dread?"
And then pure rapture erupted as he saw his owner leave the store and make her way back to the car.Jumping from front to back seats, making ultra fast spins and most certainly a different look on his face.
And they say animals don't have emotions.


Ah well.....
