Nature Diary... Beautiful Thistle

A bright sunny day with everything in the garden looking very much healthier after a night of rather heavy rain, the first rain we've had for most of the summer.
I was delighted to discover, in a somewhat overgrown area in the garden, a small group of thistles looking quietly pleased with themselves. So I photographed this one and admired it's colleagues  and hoped, as used to regularly happen, that when the thistles eventually form seeds some beautiful little Goldfinches will venture into our garden and enjoy feeding on them.
