Not particularly a fan of flies but this one with it's iridescent body caught my eye as it was perched on the Corn Marigold.
Very pleased we had 2.5cms of rain (according to my rain gauge) yesterday evening and overnight, the garden looked so much brighter and the air smelt fresher this morning.
I've just been reading about the Corn Marigold which states 'They can appear in thousands where the plant is able to take hold'.   Me thinks I better deadhead my three plants if I don't want a garden full of them next year :)
