AB699 RESTORED
The Fairlie Flyer has been restored by the Pleasant Point Historical Railway Society, and now runs on steaming days the mile of track betweenPleasant Point and Keanes Crossing. At the crossing there is a Museum with rolling stock, an old picture theatre and lots more. It is also the home of the only replica railcar in the Southern Hemisphere.
Today was a steaming day being Queens Birthday Weekend and when I went down to photograph it the village was full of classic cars -people picnicing and having lunch at the resturants so the town was booming.
You can also see the little diesel locomotive which is used for shunting the rolling stock and even the big engine when it has cooled down.
