The Kids Are Alright
Great concert in Paris today by The Who [with orchestra]. Last time (and only previous time) I saw them was in 1989 playing the 20'th anniversary concert for Tommy; then Entwhistle was still alive, and they had Elton John, Steve Winwood, Phil Collins, Patti LaBelle and Billy Idol playing different parts.
Tonights concert started with a long Tommy part, then a part consisting of singles, then a big Quadrophenia part. The orchestra really came into their own in Quadrophenia.
No "My Generation", but I suppose hoping they die before they get old is not really a sentiment they can now sing.
