Neon lights reflected on the wet pavement and windows near the Omni centre.  Just as guests were gathering for the Royal Garden Party in Edinburgh this afternoon it started to rain very heavily and definitely it would have put a dampener on their enjoyment especially for those shivering with cold in their smart summer outfits.  The tops of Nelson Monument and the Hub Spire disappeared and the Salisbury Crags were invisible in the low cloud.  Hopefully the weather will be kinder tomorrow for The Red Arrows flypast commemorating the new King’s “National Service of Thanksgiving” at St Giles when he accepts The Honours of Scotland.
