Swimming against the tide

Hubby’s sister treated us to an overnight hotel and dinner break on the Chatsworth Estate for our Christmas present and we finally got round to going today.
We stopped off in Bakewell on the way up and crossing the bridge to get into the town centre we noticed three baby Canada geese trying to get back up the weir to rejoin their parents. Unfortunately the heavens opened and we made a dash for a coffee shop but presume they were reunited.
The hotel and restaurant are lovely, a traditional country inn but very luxurious. Had a great meal and a bottle of Sauvignon. I think we will sleep well tonight, it’s so peaceful here.
