Sassopiatto-Sassolungo tour, Dolomites

Fabulous day circumnavigating the Sassopiatto- Sassolungo mountains. This was taken around 2/3rds of the way round. Probably our longest walk in the Dolomites yet and we did meet lots of people as it’s a popular route, connected by cable cars. (See one of them in the extras). We started off with sun and ended up with a hailstorm as we arrived back at the camper.

We’re spending the night outside a refuge but will move on tomorrow in search of more sunshine. We saw many marmots today but talked about how we haven’t seen any birds of prey during our time in the Dolomites.

Last night we had a huge hailstorm when we were camped at the top of the pass. Hopefully, tonight will be quieter.
