To Inganess and Beyond

This is the elaborate  guard rail for the spiral stair way to the upper craft floor of Sheila Fleet’s gallery at Tankerness. We had ample time to spend  looking at the jewellery and crafts on display as we waited for our  lunch table to be ready.

I was with Sue and Michael my friends from Edinburgh who picked me up and took me for a swim at  Inganess beach before lunch. I had never swum there before and it was a delight- clear green water and no seaweed- Porty on steroids. I had already been in at 8am with the Selkies at Stromness, so it was another double dook day for me with a very hurried drying of towel and changing robe.

The sun has been out all afternoon and it has been wonderful to see so much of the countryside by car. I realise how static I have become having to rely on a bus service which has been cut since last year.

It has been a lovely day for me and soon I will catch up with the day’s  cycling and  tennis. Nil by mouth until bedtime.
