"Thunder" Dog!

During our rainy season in Florida, we sometimes have daily Thunderstorms that are pretty intense! My area somehow has the title of being the "Lighting Capital of the World". I believed it this week as a tragic death of a woman by lighting strike happen on a beach not far from me.

Fiona, one of our King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, is very afraid of storms! She really goes wild and wants to crawl into my skin when she hears thunder. We have done everything we could think to help her deal with her fear; gave her anxiety medicine from the vets, put her in her crate when a storm came up, played soothing music and put blankets around her....nothing worked. Until the Thunder Shirt! I saw this shirt a year ago at the groomers and bought it out of desperation! Blessed relief the first time a storm came through and as soon as we put it on her, she calmed down. Now when the thunder comes, she stands very still while I put on the shirt and she is fine. Buttercup our other Cavalier, just looks the other way...silly sister!
