Mono Monday. : : Weathered

I went down a rabbit hole today looking for a certain picture.

I got sidetracked, deciding to organize my photos while I was at it.

I started out thinking I would just put all my photos of flower arrangements in one place, in a ...what?...  a folder, an album?

Kathy is back from a month long trip to Europe and I did manage to take some pictures of an interesting dead tree, part of a whole hillside of tree which have weathered five winters since they burned in the Tubbs fire.

I got totally frustrated...again...trying to organize some of my photos on the totally incomprehensible (to me) Mac Photo. When I bought my first Mac back in 2010 or so, I took the classes from a 'genius' who explained  how the then iPhoto worked. It seemed clear enough...pictures go in folders, folders go in albums, but in reality, it has never been that simple. Then, it their great wisdom, Apple 'upgraded' my operating system which no longer supported iPhoto. In the process of switching to Photo, all 20,000 of my pictures disappeared. Apple geniuses were no help getting them back but I did eventually manage to recover most of them. But they were no longer organized. Photo isn't as good as the old iPhoto was (the joy of upgrades is that, in my humble opinion, things are never better.) I will spare you the details of my frustrations. I deleted a lot of blurry bird pictures but was totally unable to crack the Mac Photo code.

I never found the picture I was looking for, although I did manage to put all flower arrangement pictures in one place.

Kathy is back from a monthlong trip to Europe I took this picture of a dead tree, part of a whole hillside that burned in the Tubbs fire, and, not having been cleared. has weathered five winters and lost most of its bark. They always catch my eye as we are driving along this particular road.

I now seem to have reached another milestone of 11 years, but since it is only fifteen days since my last milestone of 4000 blips, I will absolve all you lovely people of congratulating me again so soon. I will, however, thank all the people who work behind the scenes, and keep up their memberships to keep this very special place running smoothly and without advertising.

PS just added a shot of Son#2 and family doing their rendition of the famous Queen II album cover photographed by Nick Rock for Folkiebooknerd who has done some pretty good ones for Blip.
