AR3354
A dull designation for a spectacularly large sunspot group just about to rotate out of view. It grew very quickly and had lots of potential for Earth directed flares but nothing transpired.
This image was acquired using the set-up I blipped on June 10th.
The Sun isn't really yellow but white, the colour is an effect of our atmosphere. I nearly added false colour but decided against it.
It was a job and a half to get any image of it today. Fast moving cloud, occasional rain, a fierce wind; still, it beats working for a living.
