We’re off to see the Wizard
Backblip
We left Kent at 10 o clock. The traffic did not seem that bad but it still took us half an hour longer than it used to.
We got to our next destination at just gone twelve so perfect time for lunch. We stayed in the King William near Luton. An old Inn. It was really peaceful and tucked out of the way with views of the fields behind.
We had a relaxing lunch which we all enjoyed.Mike got the key to our room and then we went searching for some shoes for me. My feet have swollen up a lot in the heat. Found a pair in ASDA that will do even if it’s just for the next few days.
Back to the room for a cup of tea and a rest before heading for London.
It took us ages to get the app working for the carpark, must have been half an hour , but at least we got a place and for £4.10 right next to the station we did not think that was too bad.
There was a threat of rain but luckily it did not come to much , just a shower on the way back.
We walked past St Paul’s to get to the next underground station. The whole area was buzzing with people.
We found the theatre , had a quick look at Liberties and then queued up. Not long to wait till we were let in and we sat in the bar until it was time to go in.
The seats were slightly uncomfortable, no leg room at all. David had someone tall in front of him so changed seats with Mike half way through as there was no one infront of him.
We really enjoyed The Wizard of Oz. Very colourful and all the songs from the film. Ashley Bango was the Tin man, Jason Manford the lion ,who was excellent and very funny , an actor from Bridgerton the Scarecrow and Gary Wilmot the Wizard.
We stood by the stage door on the way out and managed to see most of the stars.
A good journey back to Luton even though the train we were originally on was cancelled.
