The Gilbert Scott Workhouse 1838
I had to visit Amersham Hospital today for a routine check (all good) I assume this is part of the NHS catch-up programme.
Just down the hill from the hospital is today’s Blip. A magnificent building featuring flints. The flint stones occur locally in the chalky soils. Originally a workhouse, it is now apartments. Gilbert Scott was the architect.
