Sail Training Ship Atlantica
Phoar! we said, look at the mast on that! Or words to that effect as we passed by the canal. The light was odd and the wind strong, with a few downpours throughout the day.
The Atlantica had just arrived from Fraserburgh, and was moored in the lock at the entrance to the Caledonian Canal for the best part of an hour as lectures were given to the trainees by the crew. Just as well nobody else wanted in or out. You can have a go yourself if you want.
At the top of the mast there was a struggle going on to get one of the sails stowed properly. As you can see in the extra, they were still up there when the ship moved off.
