A Very Scottish Hare
We had a lunch appointment today. We were six people, two of whom we had not met previously. We did not have a booking, so we were a little uncertain we would find a table in any of the local establishments. As it turned out we were lucky at our first choice as there was plenty of space.
When lunch was over and the group split up and went our separate ways. It was still fairly early and the sun was shining so we thought we would have a walk at Hazlehead Park. On leaving the car we had to make a dash into the cafe as the heavens were just about to open.
The cafe was pretty noisy so it was a relief when the rain stopped and we were able to venture outside once more. Here I encountered my first hare. Apparently there are many of these scattered around Aberdeen and Shire.
Similar statues seem to have become an annual event. We have had anchors, lighthouses and now hares. After going on display for a few months they are auctioned off for charity. Now the novelty has worn off I am surprised they can still find people or companies willing to bid for them.
