A sculpture?

Or remains of the past? Not sure. We were on our way home from Costco in the Trafford Center area.  We went there after going to Mass in our local church!  We had lunch of baked potatoes and chilli and cheese.

This sculpture is on the Old Barton Rd.   near where the Barton Swing bridge and the Aquaduct are.  I have included a shot from Google maps with the location marked by a red circle.  Next time we are in the area I would like to look at the aquaduct and swing bridge.  If anyone knows what it is I’d love to know!
