3108. The Hauntings at Balhousie Castle
This is a new installation of a sculpture created in 2016 at the home of the Black Watch Museum in Balhousie Castle in Perth. It was installed yesterday and you can read more about it here…https://theblackwatch.co.uk/the-hauntings/
It was a glorious morning, a little breezy and cooler than previously but a perfect morning for a long walk. We parked at the Museum and then headed out for a walk along the river. When we were heading back we stopped at the museum Bistro for a cuppa and a cheese scone…it was delightful. I also stocked up on some more gin, this time a Perth Blood Orange gin….mmmmm
I’ve added some extra photos of the exhibition boards inside the museum if you want to read more. Apparently the sculpture was damaged in Dublin in 2018 when it had red paint poured on to it and the creators decided to leave the damage (it’s still partially visible) rather than repair it because they thought that it was a sign of engagement with the work and another view of their experiences of war.
