The forecast was not very promising today so we headed in the direction of least rain and that direction took us to North Yorkshire. We visited Malham Cove which was as eye catching as ever dispute the drizzle. Rewarded ourselves with coffee and cake in a lovely little tea shop in the village afterwards. Next on to Goredale Scar - just a short walk from the road and that’s quite spectacular too. Then on to nearby Janet’s Foss - I only observed from the top because the huge, wet steps looked very slippery.
Finally a bit of a drive round, ending at Asgarth Falls. Much more could be done here to encourage more visitors as the only way we found to see the falls was by standing on a narrow and busy road bridge. We drove through Askrigg, where M and R live, but they have just gone on holiday so no cuppa there!.we’ve had a lovely day, pootling around and the rain was just more of an addition rather than a hindrance.
