Footplate conversations

We'd heard that Flying Scotsman was marking its centenary with a rail tour to Edinburgh today. Not only that, but it'd be stopping at Dunbar station.

We weren't the only ones. There was a big turn-out of people: enthusiasts with huge lenses, families recognising a holiday activity when they see one,  kids clutching their models of the locomotive and people who just seemed to be there to mark the occasion

As the train pulled out with a mighty blast of steam, there was waving from the crowds on the platform returned by the passengers on the train. Though some waving was more subdued than the rest.
