The Derby

Today was a first for me and I went to Derby Day, exactly 100 years since Emily Wilding died after falling underneath the hooves of the King's horse after trying to put the Suffragette scarf on the horse's back.

I've never been racing before and I'm not certain how I feel about the whole idea of horses racing for the joy of winning money. Nevertheless I had a good day, won some money and took a great deal of pleasure and amusement from the bizarre dresses and headwear ;0)
