Golden Oldies

The reason for being in Inverness this weekend is so that hubby can participate in a rugby golden oldies tournament. Sixteen teams from all over Scotland were meant to be competing against each other but on the day only 9 teams turned up.

It was a great day with hubby's team winning 2 of the three games they played.

The teams were able to have team members over the age of 35. Hubby's team had two members in their 60s and one who was 70. The eldest player in the tournament was 85!

Our team sustained a few injuries including a ruptured Achillies Tendon, a dislocated shoulder a torn hamstring and one member required stitches. I think on the whole, despite the pain, they were all pretty proud of their injuries.

Another night of luxury tonight (Kingsmills Hotel this time as our booking in the Rocpool had been messed up so they found us a room at the Kingsmills, complete with a free bottle of Champagne for the inconvenience!) and then back to Skye tomorrow.
