Early morning identification

We woke up to clear blue skies but a wind that cut right through.

Hearing a bird call that is unusual for these parts we went on a search and eventually spied the caller, a hornbill, high up on the branches. And just as I took this picture it was joined by what looked like two green parrots. On further investigation it appears that the other two were rose-ringed parakeet, an invasive species that have been in Joburg for many years.

Dreadful photo but a great way to start the day.
