Difference a day makes
Cool Atlantic air moved in through the French Midi gap and over near western Mediterranean. Livorno on Tuscan coast got 60mm rain in short time and 3,700 lightning strikes. Further inland and in shadow of western heights we got a paltry 5mm. But the temp drop to 20C was a tonic until it got very humid as sun reappeared. Tuscany had a region-wide orange alert for rain but I watered anyway and was not deterred by my efforts, so to speak.
