Duntocher Fort

Over 6 months since Dad moved in to the Care Home, the sale of his house finally completed today.
Having been there for 50 years, there's the definite feeling of the End of an Era.

After handing in the key to the Estate Agent, I took a walk around Goldenhill Park.
I frequented the park in my youth, but haven't been there in maybe 40 years or so.

Nearly 2000 years ago the Antonine Wall was at the North-West frontier of the Roman Empire, running from the Firth of Forth to Old Kilpatrick on the Clyde.
Duntocher Fort was one of the forts along the Wall, and excavations in the '40s & '50s uncovered a fort & fortlet at the summit of Golden Hill.
I like that this has now been referenced in the kids play park here.
