On the Edge

At F's for a couple of nights. She has magicked an amazing transformation since we were last here in October. She's been putting the bits and pieces left over from building the house to use, making arches and fences out of pallets, low walls to retain soil from rocks dug out of the foundations, plant supports from rusty reinforcing rods. Topsoil was re-sited over the rough grass that surround the place. Plants were moved, or acquired from friends and neighbours. A vegetable plot is flourishing and provided us with potatoes, salad, rhubarb, strawberries, red-currants ...

I suppose she needed something else to do, once the house-build was finished .... Did I mention that she's also taken on a part-time job? And passed the three-quarters of a century mark last year ......
