What a good day.

I'm late posting these pictures, Thursday was very rewarding.
First of all we travelled to the Wirral to Ness Botanic Gardens, hoping to see butterflies, there were quite a few, but limited varieties. It was warm, but quite breezy so there was a lot of wandering around the wild areas, trying to focus on the little blighters.
In the afternoon we moved just down the road to RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands, were we were fortunate to see fellow blipper kwchas, who was volunteering there. As usual he was able to give us some information about the current sightings before we set off for a wander.
I had a brief glimpse of a Ruff before we set off, there was also a chance to see a Marsh Harrier.
There was a large flock of Egrets, we have never seen so many together, they then started to fly to the trees where they roost near Herons that also roost nearby.
I have added a shot of a wee frog which was about the size of a clover leaf, and what I think is a male Meadow Brown butterfly, ( I stand to be corrected though). Plus a Whitethroat, these were taken at Ness Gardens.
All in all a good day out
