Cut-off

I finally got round to cutting off my Glasto wristband this evening. Not easy as it was on my right wrist and I'm right handed. At one stage I thought I might be emulating one of the great songs Yusuf/Cat Stevens treated us to from his back catalogue on Sunday, The First Cut is the Deepest, but in the end got it off without causing any injury. It will now join my collection of 11 other Glasto wristbands. Reflections on this year's Festival  - very hot (as it was when I last went in 2019), very crowded (the big headliners always attract large crowds but the whole site seemed fuller than I've ever known it), some brilliant performances as ever but I think there have been better line- ups across all rhe stages in the past, shame that the local WI no longer provide a tea and cake tent (that always used to be a favourite unwind place for me), the access stewards (and the volunteer stewards in general) were great and I was very impressed with the Festival Medical Services (again, all volunteers) that we used for the first time. Logistically it remains hugely impressive and the Festival vibe was as uplifting as ever  - I just wished we could have had some gentle rain occasionally (and I never thought I'd be wishing for rain at Glasto after some of my earlier experiences in the mud). Will I go next year? Indeed yes, if we get lucky when the tickets go on sale on line in the autumn.
