178/365 Clematis

This clematis is a true survivor. It's in a pot that 14 years ago was at the front of the house and the plant had a trellis to climb. Unfortunately we thought that it wasn't doing at all well where we had got it and then it looked like it had died.

I moved the pot into the back garden and left it there next to the shed with the intention of eventually emptying it out. Lo and behold the following spring the clematis came to life again and began climbing upwards and through the shrub next to it and has done so every year since but suffering from it's proximity to that shrub.

This year we dug up the shrub and put up a new trellis for the clematis to climb, which of course it has, and now it has a lot more space and light to thrive in. and it looks so lovely now. It's still in that original pot though.
