Sea Cloud Spirit

One of the most attractive cruise ships we've seen of the many that come up the Forth. (link is to the cruise operator with ship details and drawings)

Out in the morning before the rain to David Drummond, the sewing machine service shop, at Haymarket. My Elna is back in working order and newly oiled, I'm told .. haven't tried it yet. They say they can open my old Singer box, too .. what I really need for it is another key. This is a hand operated machine, with a shuttle rather than a spool for the thread under the needle, and the key to its mahogany box vanished in the move in 1995. 

Rain all afternoon; out by tram in the early evening to get a closer look at the Sea Cloud Spirit. Turned out the best viewpoint was from the top of the multi story car park at Ocean Terminal. It was preparing to set off; once we'd got back to the flat we watched it creep out of the harbour (it's 136 x 17 m) then head for Aberdeen.
