On the Coast
Our day started with pouring rain, but it was down to a steady drizzle by the time we checked out of our cottage and headed down the coast. It finally let up and we were able to put down the roof of the car. :-)
My main blip is my favorite lighthouse. I visited here 30 years ago and always hoped to return. BikerBear and I even climbed the spiral stairs up to a ladder that took us the rest of the way into the lookout area where the light is.
In the first extra is a Double-crested Cormorant drying its wings while enjoying the view. The next is a stack of lobster traps. Third is lobstermen moving their catch from a tank on the boat into crates. When we left, he was filling the third crate with no sign of slowing down. There must have been over 100 lobsters. Not bad for a day's work! The last one is a lobster boat (I assume) in the harbor.
It was great staying closer to the shoreline today. Even though it was cloudy and the light was less than perfect, we still enjoyed the scenery.
Tomorrow we will cross a state line...
Thanks to everyone who has dropped in with stars and hearts and comments and guesses. :-) xx
