First baby

You have to look really carefully but we have our first duckling of the summer. It’s unusual to only have one baby and mother duck wasn’t very keen on coming over to our side of the canal. She also didn’t like the attentions of a male duck who was showing too much interest and literally fought him off.
A welcome cooler day today and a few jobs done around the house. We seem to have had a lot of junk meals recently so I cooked a midweek roast for dinner. Went down a treat.
