Perfect day

First dusting of snow on the mountains. I took Lina to sojourn in them. We hiked up the mountain steps, hundreds and hundreds of them. Hopscotched over icy boulders and skirted steep and slippery slopes.

Caught out after dark the moon came out silhouetting the tall cone of Mount Cook. The temperature plummeted and just in time we made it to Mueller Hut for the night.

Exhausted we woke to a beautiful day high above the plain in the morning. Radiant sunshine and grand views along the spine of the Southern Alps. Below the highest peak in Australasia.

As always, we enjoyed the day slowly and care free. Basking in the wonder of wild places, and very happy together. A perfect day.
