The railway
The blip shows some detail from the old railway bridge crossing the River Earn near Comrie.
The Comrie to St Fillans railway line was completed around 1901 and closed under Beeching in 1951. It has now been converted into a cycle path and also makes a convenient dog walk.
The work involved in building these railways is awe inspiring, especially in comparison to the present day when any infrastructure development seems beset with problems. The dualling of the A9 springs to mind as a good example.
