And The Thunder Rolled...

... and as promised the rains came! In less than 24 hours, we had three wild thunderstorms that dumped enough water that something as simple as bailing the canoe became a priority! 

After the first storm overnight, our Air Quality Index fell from 11 back down to 1 - what a relief! Was it the rain or the high winds? Whatever, the smoke moved on....and with the assistance of two more thunderstorms during the day, our index stayed low. Not so for my sister who lives further north; their reading went down to 8 but then went right back up to 11... Not good.

So, today here at the cottage, there were intervals of bright sunshine, blue skies and a cooling breeze that made lounging on the dock a real treat.. interrupted of course, by those ominous clouds that just kept coming back! 

More rain is expected tomorrow, so perhaps that will keep the smoke at bay...?
