Highland Frog
Slogging up Beinn an Eoin in Assynt grid reg NC105064, no path as this is neither a Munro nor a Corbett, so not many people bother with it. Have done all the other peaks in the Coigach area and this one is quite seperate so it had to be done. Fantastic day, just enough breeze to keep cool with the most rewarding views of of Stac Pollaidh, Cul Mor and Suilven in the distance once we got on to the saddle. Knee deep heather and moss that you sank into like fresh snow made it hard going on the way up and down! Had just seen a baby Adder but didn't manage to get the camera out in time. We always see adders in this area, We were also lucky enough to see a Ptarmigan and 3 chicks on Saturday on Quinag. Our dog spooked her on the main path and the chicks scattered in all directions but we watched through binoculars to make sure they were reunited after we got further down.
