Heading South

We said goodbye to the north coast this morning - reluctantly, as the sun has returned and the sea was sparkling. But the views over the mountains of Sutherland couldn't have been clearer. We took the road via Loch Eriboll (above), one we haven't travelled before. 

We're now on the east coast, at Brora. We camped here nearly 50 years ago, and I'm sure we are very nearly on the same spot. Certainly, it was once part of the coastal defences - we are above the dunes, looking directly over the water, through a chain-link fence twelve feet high. At least the barbed wire from the top has been removed.
