El Nadador

I came across this sculpture of a swimmer near the waterfront as I was making my way back to the hotel after a late afternoon speedy exploration of Vigo which in some respects reminds me of Glasgow. In the absence of any Camino signage I used google maps to navigate from the seaside outskirts to to the city centre, a mixture of former shipyards, docks and then lovely green spaces and empty city squares.

Allegedly the longest day which didn’t feel too bad. I stuck to the coastal route which was quite touristy and something of a contrast to the last couple of days.

A lovely hotel tonight with a bath and air conditioning that has a bit of oomph, 31 degrees an hour or so ago. Felt much cooler on the coast.

The extra is sunrise as I left Baiona this morning, quite late, just after 8. Sunset is way after 10pm.
