Assisi

This is an artwork by Richard Long which describes his walk around Assisi in Italy. It’s part of a large free exhibition of art about St Francis at the National Gallery which I visited this morning. I especially enjoyed two large paintings by Zurburan and Stanley Spencer’s version where the saint, a portrait of Spencer’s father, lurches down a lane followed by geese and other birds.
