Crane Dance
A God-awful day today, weatherwise. But for us, it was busy, busy, busy.
Started off with a truly delightful Blip-meet with BenCran57, who is over from the National Capital for a couple of days to sing in Beethoven's 9th Symphony last night and tonight. Lucky us - we have tickets for tonight, so it's going to be a fantastic treat. While we were talking I saw these cranes which are being used to build the new Adelaide Oval. Personally I don't agree with our money being spent like this, but it is what it is, and will be a fantastic new footie venue. This view is from behind, rather than the usual view from North Adelaide. At least you can tell what a dreadful day it is.
Then to Mitcham for shopping, and straight up to the Belair National Pack where they were holding an environment day - most of the outdoor activities had been cancelled, but we had to go because I had pre-ordered a box of 20 native under-story plants for a meagre $20. Bargain!
Then we went straight to a Friends of Belair National park meeting to hear a guest speaker from the UK talking about badgers. Most interesting, but (without knowing all the politics behind it) was shocked to hear of the badger cull which is starting today.
Home to train, and get ready for our musical outing tonight.
