Fun day for the girls
A lovely bright sunny start to the day and we were treated to the sight of a deer munching foliage on the drive at the front of the house before breakfast. Another leisurely breakfast with yummy scrambled egg, avocado and smoked salmon courtesy of John.
Packed up a few things for a picnic and headed down into Bowness to find a boat trip for the girls. By now it was very warm and muggy so we were glad of the cooler feel out on the lake. The sky was broody but we only had the odd spot of rain.
A tour of the islands was just enough and Jude loved it.
Headed to the park for our picnic sitting on the band stand and then as a few more spots of rain arrived we took the girls to Beatrix Potter World. Alex and Chris made for the pub! It was nicely done though Jude was unsure whether to like it or be scared! Of course purchases were made in the shop!
Picking the men up from outside the pub we walked back up the hill as a bit more rain started to fall but we got back before the real deluge which came while we were enjoying tea and cake back at the house.
It soon passed and the sun came back, perfect timing for a second visit to the hot tub, a third for Grace and John who went back in at 11.30 last night as Alex and I watched Guns n Roses at Glastonbury! Think they’ll be back in again tonight and there’s even talk of the girls going in before we all have to leave tomorrow! That's certainly been a hit.
Great BBQ tonight, John was in charge again and we were able to eat outside as everything had dried again so no complaints about the rain as it didn’t spoil our day.
This has been such a great place and we’ve all had a fabulous time, over too quickly of course but great memories have been made that will last forever.
