The hottest day!

24°C in the back garden! Quite incredible for Orkney! We had a good rake about on the shore at low water, Lottie is getting quite keen on a paddle, but won't go any deeper!

She isn't enjoying this heat, neither is Mike, but I'm starting to get used to it. Love being able to do without dozens of layers of clothes, hat, body warmer, jacket, waterproof etc and to just go for a walk or work in the garden in a t shirt and shorts or even a skirt! When I need to cool off, a walk around the cliffs or the beach does the job. 

Lots of watering of the garden required, mainly the vegetables and seedlings. The new pond is mainly mud but is being very much enjoyed by the birds, including a pheasant and the hens!
