Kiel

A beautiful sunset over Denmark yesterday as we headed around the islands and down to Kiel…we were already docked by the time we woke this morning.

After breakfast we headed ashore, walking about a mile and a half along the waterside where the regatta was just coming to life for its final day. It was scorching hot with very little shade though we did find a seat under a tree for a little respite before making the return journey back to the ship. L was feeling the heat so we’ve spent the rest of the day relaxing out of it. 10k + steps so far today but we’re heading ashore again after dinner as we don’t sail until just after midnight.

Very few photos today as the sun was directly overhead whilst we were out. My blip is a multi exposure of some of the many boats we saw. Extra of our position on the docks in the centre of town…the gantry behind reads “German Naval Yards” in plain English which was surprising to see. Another day, another port tomorrow but tonight will end with a fireworks display to end the Kiel Regatta Week.
