What a day!

It seems hotter than ever today, but it is so good to have these lovely summer days. I am watering in the mornings at the moment, it seems easier.
No Blipfoto for me yesterday, it wasn’t that sort of day. In the morning N was out in the garden somewhere, and I was sitting quietly reading when there was an urgent banging on the front door. I found a stranger in a state of agitation telling me “your husband has fallen down the pit!” ( Our house adjoins a former marl pit) The drive was full of people, I hadn’t heard a thing! Apparently people had heard him calling. He had slipped about twenty feet down a steep slope covered in brambles and ivy. By the time I was on the scene the emergency services had been called and before long their vehicles were crowding into our small cul-de-sac. (Extra) Very many people were soon down with Norman having approached him from below. A doctor arrived and decided there were no bones broken, and it wasn’t long before they escorted him out through an easier route (another extra) .
It was decided he should be checked over so we were taken by ambulance to A&E where we spent four hours while he had scans and x-rays. Apart from sore ribs and very scratched arms and legs (he was wearing shorts) he is remarkably fine. So lucky!
So, although I did take a couple of photos yesterday, I didn’t feel like sharing them at the time! One day removed is fine.
