Stitches for Survival

Our first event in the Town Hall is an exhibition of the Stitches for Survival panels. Stitches for Survival is a group of knitters, crocheters, stitchers and crafters from across the UK and beyond who created a fabric message for the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow in November 2021. It started in Portobello with a group of friends and went global. The COP banner ended up being 1.5 km long. The woollen panels have already been distributed to various groups, helping refugees and others. The panels have been on display in various places but great to get them in the Town Hall for the first public opening of the Town Hall since the community took it over.
