I thought this was a pond skater, but I'm only going on the fact that it was on our pond, and was skating. If I'm right, I hope it leaves its family before becoming a victim of cannibalism. Neither parents nor siblings can identify members genetically related to themselves, and pond skaters are partial to a spot of cannibalism.
 Dad: Have you seen young Polly anywhere? I need to tell her it's dinner time.
Mum: She's already aton the dining table, I think.
