Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Eldest Mini Princess and I went to the phone shop to get upgrades today.

One of the assistants sat down to take our initial details. He told us he was brand new to the job (2 days) and his favourite part of the job was people watching in the shopping centre.

“You know how you can bring dogs in? Well the other day someone came in with a goose. On a lead.”

And so started the funniest time I have ever had in a phone shop. New Assistant (NA) was lovely. He is also a very literal person.

A more experienced assistant (EA) was talking him through setting up our new contract. The MP’s are off to Amsterdam next week so EA suggested international roaming and then we all ended up chatting about Amsterdam.

EA: I have a friend who lives there. I used to go over and stay with him.

Me: We were there last year and loved it.

NA: My friend was videoing in the red light district…and someone threw a bucket of pee on him.

Silence

EA: Things not to say on the shop floor

NA (genuinely confused): No one told me that.

EA: I didn’t think I’d have to. (to us, holding on to our sides). Maybe don’t include this in the customer feedback.

They are both getting the best feedback!
