Green-Veined White (Pieris napi) on Ladies Smock (Cardamine pratensis)
A couple of days ago I went to Holl Reservoir and noticed a few GVWs around but didn't manage to get close enough.
Today, I went back and not only were there more about, but I was able to get close enough for several decent shots.
They were feeding on water avens (Geum rivale) and Ladies Smock (Cardamine pratensis) but maybe that was because they were the commonest nectar flowers available.
See more of this butterfly on my Flickr site.
