Outdoor space

We today visited another pub with a newly developed outdoor space. This one has a bar (all closed up at lunchtime) and a barbecue. It used to have beautiful window boxes and I was looking forward to photographing them for my blip, but sadly they have disappeared in the redevelopment.
We were visiting ‘The Hatch’ for an annual gathering N and I call ‘the widows’. Norman had a long standing group of six friends from youth club days and we were friends with their wives and families for very many years. Sadly N is the last remaining member of the group, but he is happy to lunch with this group of women who have so much history in common. Sadly our numbers were diminished today as one didn’t feel like making the journey and another had a prior engagement, Ladies Day at Ascot! We missed them, but we had a very happy lunch time catching up with each other.
