Torre

The summit of Torre in the Serra Da Estrela , Portugal. The weather was beautiful today and we went up the proper main road to the top. What a strange place. There are two huge  towers , part of a radar warning station years ago. All a bit derelict now. Extra. There’s a stone tower too. It gets snowy in winter and people go skiing there.
There are several large shops up there selling cured meats and cheese and animal skin rugs. They also sell lots of tacky souvenirs, including some very rude mugs , no doubt inspired by the towers!
Not many purchases being made today , it was very quiet. You could only hear the sheep bells tinkling in a very hypnotic way.
Extra, They have a type of sheep dog specific to the area.
